I qualified as a registered nurse in the United Kingdom in 1990 and gained experience in ear, nose and throat during my time working as a staff nurse in the NHS. In 2005 I relocated to New Zealand with my family. I continued my special interest in ear care by undertaking further education – otological procedures, diagnosis, treatment and care – with the Ear Nurse Specialist Group (ENSG). As a member of the group (ENSGA) I enjoy continued support and education.
The ENSG developed a training / orientation programme for nurses. The main aim is for a high standard of safe, evidence based practice and to provide knowledge and skill necessary for this level of practice. The training has the support of the ORL Specialists, DHB's, PHO's, and Nursing organisations.

In 2009 I opened Cambridge Ear Clinic a nurse lead service offering help with a wide variety of ear ‘problems’. Our aim is for clients to understand how to keep ears healthy and how to prevent future problems.
